Health and Safety matters - not only to us and our workers, but
also to our clients. Everyone likes to be assured that the work
we do is done safely. In a business like ours, we live with the
effects of our work on health and safety every day, which is why
we believe in operating in a safe and responsible way.
Due to the strength of our reputation in this area, we also undertake
a principal contractor role on many of our projects - proving that
our comittment to health and safety goes beyond just Pandelco, but
to everyone we work with, and as such, Pandelco have a full time
Health and Safety and Environmental Manager.

Health and Safety Policy Statement
Pandelco Ltd are committed to providing and maintaining safe and
healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all
their employees and to provide such information, training and supervision
as they require for this purpose. The Company also accepts its responsibility
for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by
its acts or omissions.
Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974) it is the duty
of every employee to take reasonable care for the health and safety
of himself or other persons who may be affected by his or her activities.
Therefore, the success of the application of the Pandelco Ltd safety
policy depends upon the co-operation of all employees and consequently
has the full support of all the group directors.
Safety Passport Scheme
Pandelco Ltd operate a Safety Passport System which is certified
as meeting the requirements of the Client, Contractor, National
Safety Group Scheme and the Construction Skills Certification Scheme.
Environmental Policy Statement
Pandelco Ltd are committed to the protection of the environment,
which may be affected by it's activities.
To this end Pandelco Ltd:
- Will ensure compliance with environmental legislation and will
anticipate and act promptly on any changes to such.
- Are committed to continual improvement in environmental performance
and to preventing pollution and will plan, conduct and monitor
its operations using the best practicable means to protect the
environment from impairment.
- Will assess all contracts for their environmental impact, offering
advice to clients on less harmful/more energy efficient alternatives
where practicable.
- Will make all employees aware of our environmental policy, while
providing suitable training to improve environmental awareness,
and allocate clear responsibilities.
- Will purchase, operate and maintain all it's vehicles in a responsible
manner providing the maximum practicable environmental protection.
- Are committed to a programme of recycling and are continually
trying to find new methods of recycling/reusing/reclaiming packaging
and redundant materials.
The environmental 'aspects and impacts' and 'objectives and targets'
of Pandelco Ltd are set down in the Company Environmental Procedures
Manual. Copies of this are available for inspection at all branches
or 'uncontrolled copies' may be obtained from the Health, Safety
and Environmental Manager at Head Office.
All 'aspects and impacts' are reviewed annually or whenever circumstances
change.
All 'objectives and targets' are reviewed six weekly with an annual
review carried out at the annual management review.
